First post: what is this blog about.

Hi and welcome to my feline rambles.
This blog is going to be about Cato, Charlie and Tina and general feline information that could be helpful and interesting.
The cat you see in the photos is Cato. Sadly he died on the 22nd of May in a road accident.
My girlfriend and I are still very upset about it. We'll always miss him. He was one of a kind. He was big tomcat but very gentle. He was and always will be one of our feline family members.
He was so lovely and gentle, he wouldn't have want us to shy away from taking in another rescue cat. After it happened, someone shared the next "feline last will and testament" with me. If cats would be able to think like humans and read and write, this would have been his testament too.

Before humans die, they write their last will and testament, and give their home and all they have to those they left behind.

If with my paws I could do the same, this is what I’d ask...

To the cold and lonely stray, I’d give my happy home,

My bowl and cosy bed, soft pillows and all my toys,

The lap which I loved so much, the tender loving touch,

The hand that stroked my fur...the sweet voice which called my name.

I’d will to the sad, scared shelter animal, the place I had in my human’s loving heart which seemed to know no bounds.

So, when I die, never say “I will never have a pet again, for the loss and pain is more than I can stand.”

Instead, go find a homeless animal, one whose life has held no joy or hope, and give MY place to THEM.

This is the only thing I can give...the love I left behind.

THIS is my inheritance: my will and last testament.

Some of ye might think it's tacky. Maybe it is. But it is directed to humans, to encourage them to take in other shelter animals after their beloved pet died. Hey, it helped with us. Two days ago we collected Charlie and Tina from the Limerick Animal Welfare Sanctuary and gave them a new home. Even though we miss Cato terribly and are still very much in mourning, we can still love other cats.
Besides that, we also help out in the Sanctuary on Sundays, caring for all those cats who are still waiting for a home.
